Patrick Clancy spotted for first time since ex-wife Lindsay's mistrial

Patrick Clancy has been photographed in public for the first time since the high-profile murder trial of his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, ended without a verdict — a mistrial that could force him back onto the witness stand to relive the deaths of their three young children.

Clancy was seen Sunday in Midtown Manhattan, wearing sunglasses and shorts as he walked through the city, only days after jurors in Massachusetts failed to reach a unanimous decision on whether Lindsay should be convicted of first-degree murder or found not guilty by reason of insanity.

The sighting came after he was also seen in New York last week, while deliberations were still underway, holding hands with his new wife, fertility specialist Rachel Danis.

On the jury of nine women and three men, 11 members reportedly supported not convicting Clancy, but one male juror remained firmly opposed, preventing a unanimous outcome.

Lindsay Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, said he expects prosecutors to push for a second trial.

Patrick has also filed a lawsuit against Lindsay’s doctors and medical providers, accusing them of failing to properly diagnose and treat her before she strangled the children to death.

The emotionally wrenching seven-week trial began in July with Patrick serving as the prosecution’s key witness, giving jurors a devastating account of coming home to discover that Lindsay had strangled their three children before attempting to end her own life.

Jurors also heard a chilling 911 call in which Patrick could be heard crying out, “she killed the kids.”

He revealed on the stand that Lindsay repeatedly sought help for her worsening mental state in the months leading up to the January 2023 killings.

After seven days of deliberation, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on Friday.

Patrick’s attorney, David Meier, issued a statement following the mistrial decision, saying his client is “grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work, their commitment, and their perseverance.”

“The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure,” it read. “The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family, and for all us.”

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
