Texas lawyer who was badgered by judge over sleeveless J. Crew dress reveals outrageous response she's gotten from other female attorneys

A Texas lawyer is defending her right to bare her arms in court.

After a judge criticized her “inappropriate” courtroom attire, the attorney says she has received hostile messages from fellow female lawyers — but she remains unfazed.

Mariah Medina, a San Antonio-based former reporter who now works as a defense lawyer, shared photos of the modest sleeveless sheath dress she wore to court. The judge reportedly described it as a “tank top.”

Colleagues have rallied to Medina’s defense. One male attorney even purchased a short-pants suit in solidarity, though lawyers online have been far less supportive.

“The number of women attorneys who are just so ugly on the internet, I was like, ‘This is so strange,’” Medina told The Post Wednesday.

Medina said she has also received cold messages from male lawyers, but expected more support from women in the profession.

She said sleeveless dresses are a practical choice during San Antonio’s sweltering summers and noted that she has worn them to court before without incident, as have many of her colleagues.

“Texas has the strongest right to bear arms, but when it comes to ‘bare arms’ that right ends between the shoulder and the elbow, I guess,” she quipped.
