At least two people died and several others were injured Friday in a major seven-vehicle crash in Oxnard that left twisted wreckage strewn across the highway.
Authorities said the collision was reported around 4 p.m. near Victoria and Doris avenues.
When emergency responders arrived, they found seven victims. Two were pronounced dead at the scene.
The five surviving victims suffered injuries of varying severity. Four were taken to hospitals: one with serious injuries, two with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries.
Emergency personnel treated the fifth survivor at the crash site before releasing the person.

Video from the aftermath showed damaged vehicles scattered throughout the scene, along with a heavily burned debris field marking the front portion of the wreckage.
The footage also appeared to show two vehicles beneath or near light poles that had been knocked down in the collision.
Investigators have not determined what led to the crash.
The Oxnard Police Department is leading the investigation.
