A tech executive has faced intense backlash after publicly outlining a lengthy list of requirements for potential romantic partners.
Brooke LeBlanc, 29, of San Francisco, attracted widespread attention on X earlier this week when she posted a detailed list of dating “non-negotiables.”
Her criteria covered everything from a prospective partner’s physique and personality to his views on having children.
She also required potential partners to be “on the healing path,” with a demonstrated commitment to personal growth through experiences such as therapy, self-help books or wellness retreats.
“Wrote out a list of who I’m looking for,” she wrote in the post, which has since been deleted. “X, work your magic.”
Her list called for men aged between 35 and 42 who were healthy, masculine, intelligent and funny, with a lighthearted nature and a “provider/protector mentality.” She also sought someone hardworking, kind, generous and thoughtful.
LeBlanc said she wanted a partner who did not already have children but had decided he wanted to become a father in the future.
“[They must be] on the healing path,” the list stated, specifying a history of serious commitment to self-improvement through therapy, books or retreats.

A tech executive has drawn fierce criticism after revealing her extensive list of dating requirements

Brooke LeBlanc, 29, from San Francisco, went viral on X after sharing her detailed list of relationship “non-negotiables,” which covered everything from physical appearance and personality to views on having children
“Can meet anywhere but will not date unless [we] live in the same city,” she continued. Applicants also had to be fit and sober because they valued their health.
Alongside her firm requirements, LeBlanc listed several qualities she “strongly preferred” in a man.
Those preferences included having no previous marriages or engagements. She also said she would favor someone who worked in the technology industry.
The post quickly became the subject of intense online scrutiny. However, LeBlanc, who serves as head of community at AI insurance company Corgi, later claimed that she had already identified five potential partners after the list went viral.
She has since deleted her entire X account. Our News Outlet contacted LeBlanc for comment but did not receive a response.

LeBlanc joined Corgi in February 2026. Previously, she worked as a business development manager at software company iDeals, where her LinkedIn profile says she “sold the largest VDR contract in US to JP Morgan.”
The controversy follows comments from a leading etiquette expert, who recently shared her own “non-negotiable” qualities for the “perfect man” with Our News Outlet.
Jo Hayes, founder of EtiquetteExpert.org, described the traits she considers essential in a future husband. Her perspective is informed not only by her professional expertise but also by her personal search for love.

Do detailed dating requirements empower people, or do they create impossible standards for modern relationships?

It also contained rules, like, they must ‘be on the healing path’ and have a ‘history of serious commitment’ to healing by having seen a therapist, read a self-health book or been on a wellness retreat
Speaking from both a professional and personal perspective, Hayes told Our News Outlet she is ‘intentionally seeking a man who pursues a low-tech, low-digital lifestyle.’
For Hayes, a man who isn’t on social media isn’t just a bonus – it’s highly preferred.
‘Why? For all of the reasons,’ she said. ‘They’re more emotionally available, less distracted, less mentally over-stimulated by the excess “noise/content” on social media, less aware of the details of other people’s lives.’
She believes that removing social media from the equation allows relationships to feel more private and meaningful, which is what women crave.
Beyond her rigid stance on social media, Hayes’ list leans heavily into shared values and long-term compatibility, particularly when it comes to faith.
Finances are another major factor, and one she says many couples underestimate at their peril.
‘Ask any married couple, or marriage therapist, and you’ll discover that finances are up there as the leading issues of marital stress and conflict,’ she said.
But it’s not simply a case of marrying a rich man. Rather than wealth alone, Hayes emphasizes the importance of financial wisdom.
‘He doesn’t need to be a billionaire, but he must be financially secure, wise in creating wealth, and wise in stewarding that wealth,’ she added.
