An Arizona man once detained and later released in the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s unsolved disappearance has been arrested again, authorities said. Officials stressed that the latest arrest involves allegations unrelated to Guthrie’s case.
“Luke Daley was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on September 30, 2026,” a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told News Outlet. “This is unrelated to the Nancy Guthrie case.”
Daley, 37, has a significant criminal history, including previous felony convictions. He came under scrutiny in the Guthrie investigation on Feb. 13, when officers stopped him in a Culver’s parking lot and searched his mother’s home. The residence was about two miles from the Catalina Foothills home in Tucson where Guthrie is believed to have been abducted.

Daley was released several hours later without being charged.
Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect in Guthrie’s disappearance, and the 84-year-old has still not been found. A masked figure captured by a Nest doorbell camera near the time of the reported abduction also remains unidentified and at large.

Daley’s attorney, Chris Scileppi, said after his client’s release that Daley had no connection to the case. “Mr. Daley has no link whatsoever to Nancy Guthrie and has no information related to her kidnapping,” Scileppi said in a statement. “Like the entire Tucson community, both Mr. Daley and his mother are hopeful that Nancy will be returned to her family unharmed.”

At the time of his earlier detention, Daley faced unresolved drug and weapons charges and was on probation in a separate case involving similar violations. Prosecutors have asked the court to revoke that probation.
