WARSAW — A 15-year-old former student killed a school employee and wounded two other people in Poland on Thursday, police said, one day after a separate school knife attack injured 10 people, including the 19-year-old suspect.
“Despite resuscitation efforts, the life of a 37-year-old school employee could not be saved,” police said in a post on X.
Police said the teenager was detained after entering a school in Leszczydol-Nowiny, in Wyszkow County northeast of Warsaw, at approximately 9 a.m. Three staff members were attacked with what authorities described as a “sharp object.”
The school’s principal was among those injured and managed to restrain the 15-year-old, police said. Officers reached the scene within minutes of receiving the emergency call, while investigative and security operations remained in progress.

Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski also reported a separate incident in Sierpc, in north-central Poland, where police detained a 17-year-old allegedly preparing to carry out an attack.
Officers found two knives inside the teenager’s backpack, the minister said.
The latest incident came a day after a knife attack at a school in Ostroleka, northeastern Poland, left 10 people injured. Police detained the 19-year-old suspect shortly afterward; he was also among those hurt.
