A Los Angeles family is mourning two young brothers allegedly killed by their father, while disturbing posts from his social media history have raised further questions about his state of mind.
Adolfo Gramajo, 35, allegedly shot his two sons in the head in broad daylight in Koreatown this week before turning the gun on himself. He survived the apparent suicide attempt and remains hospitalized.
Jimmy Gramajo, 4, and Osmani Gramajo, 11, have been remembered at several memorial gatherings as their loved ones struggle to cope with the devastating loss.
“They’re my sister’s kids and this moment she’s going through hurts my soul,” Marilsa Bonilla told LA Local.
Bonilla said she had hoped to celebrate her nephews’ birthdays with presents and laughter, but instead attended a memorial. “Although it’s the exact opposite, I’m still grateful for the community that came to support,” she said.
Bonilla, the sister of the boys’ mother, Edilma Bonilla De Leon, said the family was deeply moved by the support from the community.
“There are so many people that came here today that we don’t know, but that have felt moved by the story of the children,” Marilsa Bonilla said. “We don’t have the words or know how to return so much kindness… we hope to God that the example of these little ones will motivate other parents to give more love to their children and preserve life because it is precious.”
Investigators have not said what led Gramajo to allegedly kill his sons. Before the shooting, he reportedly took the boys to a nearby McDonald’s during what was expected to be a custody visit.
He had previously told their mother that the children would be staying at his parents’ home.
Gramajo’s Facebook activity, where he also shared photographs of his children, included posts that appeared troubling. He identified himself as originally being from Algarrobo, in Spain’s Malaga province.

His Facebook biography indicated that he felt he had little left to live for beyond his family.
“Usually nothing makes me happy anymore; I’m still alive because my family needs me to survive…,” an English translation of the biography states.
A post he published in December 2018 carried an even darker message.
“Don’t judge me cause I am quiet, no one plans a murder out loud,” an English translation of the post read.
The family has created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the boys’ memorial costs as well as their mother’s immediate expenses while she is unable to work.
Andrew Conroy, the principal of Virgil Middle School, shared a poignant memory of Osmani with LA Local.
He recalled that Osmani regularly arrived at school early and greeted others with a smile.
According to MyNewsLA, Gramajo has been charged in connection with the boys’ deaths, including a special-circumstance allegation involving multiple murders.
The California Post contacted the boys’ family for comment.
