A court heard on Monday that Beau Lamarre-Condon told a friend to “bring your big boy diapers” before the pair held a recorded 50-minute meeting at Silverwater Correctional Centre.
The phone call and face-to-face meeting occurred on December 14, 2024—about 10 months after Lamarre-Condon allegedly killed Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
The friend, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, had previously testified that Lamarre-Condon confessed to the killings during a conversation on February 19, 2024.
He also told the court last week that Lamarre-Condon had asked him to take time away from work so he could help clean up the alleged crime scene and dispose of the bodies.
The friend said he interpreted the reference to “diapers” as a warning that Lamarre-Condon was likely to make distressing or uncomfortable remarks during their meeting later that day.
By then, the friend had provided police with three statements, and the court heard Lamarre-Condon knew those statements existed.
The entire 50-minute exchange had been recorded and was played to the court on Monday.
During the discussion, Lamarre-Condon was heard describing his friend as “dumb” and suggesting he had a poor memory and could not be relied upon.
“This is the annoying thing about you, I love you, but if I was going to tell a story to [my other friends], they’re more likely to get it accurate,” Lamarre-Condon said.
“Sometimes, you don’t pay much attention, because it’s not important to you, and that’s an honest mistake, it’s not intentional.”
The friend attempted to explain that he was angry because Lamarre-Condon had placed him in a “difficult situation” by approaching him on the day of the alleged murders and, according to the friend, saying, “I’ve killed people”.
Although repeatedly insisting, “I know you’re not a liar”, Lamarre-Condon also characterised the friend as inexperienced and human, saying he was therefore capable of making mistakes.
“I didn’t even f***ing do it. Use your brain,” Lamarre-Condon could be heard saying.
When the friend appeared ready to leave, Lamarre-Condon told him: “Breathe. Stop. Breathe.”
Throughout the meeting, he maintained that he was “taking accountability” for his role in the deaths of Baird and Davies, as well as for involving his friend.

“All this could have been avoided, and it’s because of your choices,” the friend said.
“I know! That’s why I’ve taken accountability … F***ing hear me out,” Lamarre-Condon replied.
He began recounting what allegedly happened after he entered Baird’s home, but stopped himself and said, “maybe I shouldn’t say that…”.
“I hadn’t spoken to Jesse since November [2023] but I’m kind of aware he’s moving house,” he said.
“I go in to say hello, there’s no answer…maybe I shouldn’t say that…I go into the kitchen…actually, maybe I shouldn’t talk about that… Let’s say this, if you were at your house and you thought you were being robbed, would you f***ing kick off?”
The friend then started talking about how Luke Davies was also in the house, before appearing to walk away from Lamarre-Condon.
‘Can you come back here?’ Lamarre-Condon (pictured above, with the friend at Sushi Train in Cronulla) could be heard saying.
The friend replied: ‘Yeah, I’m sitting here getting more and more frustrated and I’m this close to leaving.’
Lamarre-Condon asked: ‘Why are you leaving?’
He then started detailing his version of events again, saying Baird had broken up with him, he was upset about it and ‘had a cry like you do with friends’.
‘S**t went wrong and that’s my fault and I am taking the blame for it,’ he said.
The friend asked: ‘What you’re telling me might not be the truth, but how do I know? I’m only getting my information from you.’
The friend then pointed out that Lamarre-Condon had entered Baird’s home that day without permission.
Under cross-examination, the friend told the court he was wearing a recording device for police throughout that conversation.
When Lamarre-Condon asked if he was wearing a wire, the friend told the court he lied by saying he wasn’t.
