A Pennsylvania man who opened fire on twin brothers waiting at a bar for their father has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison after killing one of them.
Daniel Moles, 66, was sentenced Wednesday to life without parole. A jury convicted him of first-degree murder and attempted homicide. The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office said Moles opened fire on 31-year-old Randy Jenereaux and his twin brother, Andy Jenereaux, on Nov. 13, 2021.
The brothers had been waiting to pick up their father, who worked as a cook at Woodpeckers Grub and Pub in Upper Burrell, Pennsylvania, local NBC affiliate WPXI reported.

According to prosecutors, Randy Jenereaux was inside the bar when Moles “fired two rounds from across the bar” in the direction of the brothers. One bullet struck Randy’s beer glass, then passed through his hand and wrist before lodging in his chest. Andy was not hit.
The twins made it back to their vehicle, where Andy tried to drive his brother to a hospital. Randy died in the car before they arrived. WPXI reported that Moles and the Jenereaux brothers were strangers, and investigators found no evidence of an argument or other confrontation at the bar before the shooting.
Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli called the case a “painful reminder,” noting that the day of Moles’ sentencing was also the twins’ 36th birthday.
Moles received an additional sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison for the attempted homicide of Andy Jenereaux.
