A 97-year-old man’s unexpected “dramatic exit” has stunned people worldwide after he died at his own birthday celebration, just moments after dancing to the Bee Gees hit Stayin’ Alive.
Baker Eden Malinoff, a Los Angeles-based baker, recently turned to TikTok to share a video of the cake she prepared for her neighbor Vito’s 97th birthday party.
But in the now-viral clip , she explained that the lively celebration took a heartbreaking turn when Vito suddenly died in front of his guests. The remarkable story has since captured attention around the world.
Malinoff said Vito had organized the party to mark his 97th birthday and had asked her to create a special cake for the occasion.
She shared footage of herself making a red wine chocolate cake, a dessert inspired by Vito’s fondness for alcohol. In a voiceover, she said: “In true Vito fashion, he wanted to celebrate by throwing a Halloween birthday rager.”
Malinoff also celebrated Vito’s energetic spirit, saying: “If I learned one thing from Vito, it’s to never let your age stop you.
“This man lived his life to the fullest, right up until his final moments—quite literally. At 24 years old, I couldn’t keep up with him. He was the life of the party.”
Malinoff then revealed that, sadly, the evening ended in a way no one had expected.
