A Bronx Supreme Court judge was arrested this week after police accused him of driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test.
Judge Erik Gray is suspected of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, driving while ability impaired and refusing to take a breath test. Police stopped him at about 12:35 a.m. Friday near 189th Street and Webster Avenue in the Fordham section of The Bronx, authorities said.
Gray, 58, ran as a Democrat for a seat on the New York City Civil Court of New York County in 2019, according to Ballotpedia.org. His term is scheduled to end on Dec. 31, 2029.

A police source said that a person charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs may have been taking prescription medication.
Under state law, refusing to take a breathalyzer test results in the immediate, automatic suspension of a driver’s license.

The Office of Court Administration, which oversees New York’s court system, did not respond to an email requesting comment. Gray also did not return a telephone message.
