First Lady Melania Trump is preparing to attend her first major college football game without her sports-enthusiast husband, Donald, on Saturday afternoon — a visit expected to create significant disruption for fans traveling to Baton Rouge.
Melania, accompanied by her Secret Service detail, will arrive at Tiger Stadium as LSU welcomes Alabama for one of the season’s most anticipated SEC matchups.
The appearance is intended to spotlight her work supporting young adults leaving the foster care system through her Fostering the Future initiative.
However, some LSU supporters reacted angrily after the university issued a warning about “critical gameday impacts, security measures and navigation updates,” citing the arrival of “high-profile guests and on-site operations with the US Secret Service.”
One LSU fan tagged Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry on X, writing: “Nobody wants this.”
Another posted, “Extra time meaning get there three hours early, got it…” A third complained: “Can we stop bringing people that don’t give a f*** about the actual game to these types of games?”

Tiger Stadium is expected to generate one of the nation’s most intense atmospheres with Alabama visiting
LSU has published a list of 24 items that will be banned from the stadium, along with a map showing a substantial section of the venue’s outer ring that fans will be unable to access on Saturday afternoon.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST, with the SEC showdown between the Tigers and Crimson Tide expected to attract more than five million television viewers.
That is not the only audience of five million Melania is expected to reach on Saturday.
“The First Lady has secured at least $5 million to establish a permanent endowment fund supporting Fostering the Future scholarships for LSU students who experienced foster care,” Marc Beckman, her exclusive senior adviser, told Our News Outlet.
“The First Lady is going to attend this amazing clash of NCAA football titans, LSU versus Alabama. Both schools, by the way, are part of Fostering the Future’s national network.”
Fourteen LSU students are currently enrolled through the Fostering the Future program, which includes 26 universities across the country.
During Saturday’s game, players will wear Fostering the Future and Be Best patches in support of the First Lady’s two initiatives.
Melania has attended several sporting events this year, including the America 250 IndyCar event in August and the World Cup finals in July

Some fans expressed frustration over the heightened security expected during Melania’s visit to Baton Rouge
Beckman said the designs will feature on LSU jerseys, helmets, cheerleading uniforms, mascot clothing and a commemorative towel.
A limited-edition NCAA football will also be produced, while officials have agreed to conduct the coin toss using a challenge coin associated with the First Lady.
The high-profile game caps a busy week for Melania, who has been involved in ceasefire efforts and is also preparing for the release of more footage from a documentary about her life.
Melania and Amazon released a new trailer Friday for a two-episode follow-up to her earlier documentary series, MELANIA.
The new episodes are scheduled to premiere on November 20 and will offer a look at Melania’s life in the period leading up to her husband’s second inauguration.
“Everybody wants to be close to power and sometimes could be very dangerous,” she says in the trailer.
The documentary news was not the only reason Melania attracted attention this week.
On Thursday, Melania appeared in the White House Cross Hall to host Russian and Ukrainian officials at a gathering celebrating the six-day truce she brokered in the war-ravaged city of Oleshky.

The gathering represented another stage in the First Lady’s peace initiative, and she received gifts from members of both delegations.
“Together we can create something more enduring than a temporary ceasefire,” she said from the podium. “Let us see Oleshky as a spark in a world of darkness capable of illuminating the best of humanity.”
Almost 800 people were evacuated during the six-day pause, which began on October 7 and ended on November 1 after Russian officials declined to extend it.
Kirill Dmitriev, a representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s government, nevertheless praised the initiative and commended both the First Lady and the President.
