FLAT ROCK, Ala. (WHNT) — A Jackson County man was arrested for allegedly using a dead man’s identity to buy guns, ammunition and other items.

On October 2, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of a man for possessing a controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine and fentanyl. Investigators later found out that the name the man provided belonged to a deceased individual.

The suspect was subsequently identified as Stuart Sandrock. It was discovered that in 1993, Sandrock had been previously found guilty of attempting to solicit murder in San Diego.

A search was conducted at Sandrock’s residence on County Road 81 in Flat Rock on Monday. During this search, authorities uncovered 33 firearms, numerous rounds of ammunition, and documents under the name of the deceased person whom Sandrock had attempted to assume as his identity.
