2DayFM presenter Emma Chow has delivered a heartening update to fans after previously opening up about her husband Enzo’s battle with chronic kidney disease.
The Breakfast with Nath & Emma co-host has been cleared as a compatible kidney donor, bringing the couple one step closer to a potentially life-saving transplant in the months ahead.
Sharing the emotional milestone on Instagram on Tuesday, Enzo said the pair had just left their transplant appointment and both sets of results had gone the way they had hoped.
Emma excitedly confirmed they were a match, adding that doctors had joked the assessment was unusually straightforward because her kidneys were performing so well.
The couple said they are now hoping to receive a surgery date before the end of the year, while thanking supporters for their kind messages, encouragement and well wishes.
Emma also acknowledged how anxious the hospital visit had been as she accompanied her husband through the crucial appointment.

2DayFM radio host Emma Chow has shared a major update after revealing her husband Enzo is living with chronic kidney disease
She said the nerves had left her tingling with “pins and needles,” but added that they were thrilled to be moving in the right direction, before sharing a kiss with Enzo.
Emma broke down in tears last month as she told listeners Enzo had chronic kidney disease and they were struggling to find an organ donor.
She explained that they were hoping she was a match so he could undergo the procedure as soon as possible.
‘I’m now trying to save my husband’s life. Enzo has chronic kidney disease and he needs a live donor transplant. Hopefully, that donor will be me,’ Emma said.
‘We’ve been undergoing a bunch of tests… we’re currently waiting for the one test that shows if I’m a match. It’s the first time I might finally be able to physically help him after years of feeling like all I could do was watch him suffer.’
She added that she was working hard to maintain a sense of normality in her household during such a difficult time.
‘I also have to prepare for the news that I’m not a match, and I have to be okay with that. I’m still doing important things that make him feel safe and supported,’ she explained.

‘Going to every appointment, keeping things as chill as possible with the kids at home, cooking his comfort meals, snuggling on the couch as a family, and sometimes just listening.
‘In all honesty, I’m really tired and some days feel a lot harder to push through. But I keep reminding myself why this season is so important.
‘It’s so Enzo can live a long, healthy life and watch our boys grow up.’
The radio star shares two children – Valentino, eight, and Raphael, one – with her husband, who she married in 2015.
