Beth Stern is weighing in publicly for the first time on husband Howard Stern’s latest career move, following news that the legendary broadcaster will bring his show to HBO Max with weekly streaming episodes.
Beth, 54, shared her reaction with The Daily Mail on Thursday while attending Alice + Olivia’s New York Fashion Week presentation at 583 Park Avenue.
Asked about Howard’s new HBO Max project, the Pittsburgh-born model, author and animal welfare advocate sounded enthusiastic, saying, “Oh my gosh, it’s such a wonderful [thing] — I mean, so Howard!”
She was also asked how the latest shift in The Howard Stern Show might affect life at home, as Stern is now set to air one new live program each week on his SiriusXM channel Howard 100, after Andy Cohen moved into the Howard 101 slot.
“It’s actually great for me, because he’s now going to start only working one day a week — so I get more Howard at home and he’s still connected to the world, so it’s a win-win for all of us,” Beth said.
Stern, who has scaled back his weekly radio schedule from two shows to one, is expected to release new episodes on HBO Max every Thursday.

SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein said in an August 31 news release of the new endeavor: ‘There’s simply no one like Howard, and the start of his new season is another exciting chapter in an extraordinary run.’
Greenstein said the company was ‘proud … that Howard, HBO Max and SiriusXM have now teamed up to create a compelling new video version of his show.’
The drop down to a weekly show and one channel – and resultant lack of need for content – led SiriusXM to lay off a reported 12 staffers this past summer, including longtime writer Benjy Bronk.
Stern will continue working from a studio in his Hamptons home, as he has primarily done since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Beth on Thursday said she and her spouse ‘pretty much stay’ in the Hamptons, ‘but we have to come back-and-forth sometimes.’
She told The Daily Mail that Howard continues to shower her with romantic gestures, as he’s always painting pictures for her.
Beth said, ‘They’re usually of our animals, and so he’s now going to be working on a butterfly for me because I love butterflies.
‘I saw him taking pictures of a butterfly – I think he’s going to be painting me a butterfly.’

Beth told The Daily Mail that she was happy to support her friend, Alice + Olivia CEO Stacey Bendet, at Thursday’s fashion showcase, which she was juggling with her cat fostering activities.
‘I have 37 foster kittens in the foster room, so I’m literally coming to this and rushing right back to the house because there are kittens that need me,’ Beth said.
She said it was fun putting on Alice + Olivia fashion and getting her makeup, hair and lashes done, as she said she doesn’t ‘have makeup on in the house ever when [she’s] caring for all the fosters.’
Beth added, ‘It’s such a New York day for me.’
Stern is slated to return to his SiriusXM show Monday, and the debut episode of his HBO Max show drops on September 17, with new shows coming out each Thursday.
