Tennis star Peng Shuai has accused Zhang Gaoli of sexual assault through a social media post.

She confessed on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, that the former VP forced her into sex.

Peng also says, their on and off relationship lasted for more than five years from 2012 to 2017.

The allegation post was made via Peng’s verified account on Weibo. The contents were viewed more than 100k times and were removed instantly.

However, screenshots of a since-deleted post have been circulating all over social media.

At the time, there was no further word from the 35-year-old Peng or Zhang Gaoli.

Like Zhang, his wife Kang Jie remains closely shielded by the government and could not be reached for comment.

The authorities have charged government officials with sexual misconduct before. The developing news is hitting a serious investigation lately.
