ASO Detective Cracks Vehicle Burglary With Similar-Case Lead

Staff report

WALDO, Fla. – Justin Lavelle Bolton Jr., 19, of Waldo, is facing charges after investigators say he stole firearms and credit cards from three vehicles during two separate burglary incidents in November 2025 and January 2026.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded on January 26 to a Waldo property where victims reported that two vehicles had been burglarized. According to the report, a purse, a credit card, and multiple firearms were taken. Investigators also learned that several CashApp transactions and an Amazon transaction had been attempted using the stolen card.

In June, a detective received records from a CashApp subpoena that had been submitted in February. Those records reportedly linked the CashApp account to Justin Bolton and showed five attempted transfers from the victim’s credit card to Bolton’s account on January 26. The account also allegedly attempted to send money to another account, but that transaction was declined as well.

While reviewing other burglaries in the area, the detective found a November 2025 report involving a victim who kept a tracker in her wallet. The victim reported that the tracker’s location was showing at an address in Waldo; the detective noted in the report that the address was Bolton’s.

On July 20, the detective went to Bolton’s Waldo address, but learned that Bolton was at a residence in Hawthorne. Bolton was later arrested at that location.

Bolton has been charged with two counts of armed burglary of a vehicle, four counts of grand theft of a firearm, and two counts of attempted theft of a debit or credit card, with one count tied to each of the November and January burglaries. He has no criminal convictions, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $255,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
