Police reveal key clues about whoever is behind Adelaide school threats

Authorities in South Australia have disclosed significant developments in their investigation into the online threats targeting Glenunga International High School.

Recently unveiled are disturbing images and information about an online pseudonym, following the earlier dismissal of charges against an 18-year-old suspect.

The threats, which emerged in May, allegedly included plans to assault the school with bombs, knives, and a vehicle. There was also a chilling threat to douse a student with boiling oil at a bus stop.

Investigators have identified the alias “Brian Cole,” which was used by someone accessing a shared computer between 9 p.m. from November 19 of the previous year to May 13.

This computer reportedly had the gaming application ‘Steam’ and the game ‘Black Myth: Wukong’ installed on it.

Police are now calling on the public to assist in identifying the individual behind these threats.

“We’re seeking to be more overt and seek the assistance of the public to try and identify the individual,” Deputy Police Commissioner Linda Williams said.

“All lines of inquiry are still open to us, we’ll follow the evidence as to where that takes us.”

Police are now seeking help from the public to find the suspect. (Nine)

Investigators believe “Brian Cole” may have experienced a change in living circumstances around May 13, 2025, potentially leading to reduced computer access.

As part of the renewed investigation, students were shown a collection of images during a school assembly run by detectives.

These images included a spider with its legs severed and arranged to resemble the school logo, and a picture containing the handwritten words “CHARLES FROM HERO”.

Police have also released a list of common words and phrases allegedly used by the suspect, including “steal the souls” and “I have spells which are just for the hero”.

This information, along with the images, has been shared with students and staff at Glenunga International High School in the hope that someone will recognise the handwriting or phrases used.
