Police in South Carolina are searching for a 16-year-old Sumter County girl missing since Tuesday.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Yu’Niya Zhrori Cooks, who, according to a news release, has not been seen for several days.
The last sighting of her was on Tuesday morning at 7:55 a.m., when she disembarked from the school bus at Lakewood High School on Old Manning Road in Sumter and got into an SUV.
The authorities have not disclosed any details about the driver or if there were additional passengers in the SUV. The sheriff’s office has not yet stated if they are treating Cooks as a runaway or if they suspect any criminal activity related to her disappearance.
She’s described as standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 198 pounds. She has blonde braided hair and brown eyes.
