The grieving family of a tourist who sent alarming messages before dying in a tragic fall are criticizing the police’s assertion that her death was accidental.

Ivonne Daniela Latorre, 24, disappeared from the Zamna electronic music festival in Cairo, Egypt, where she was with her friend, Colombian beauty queen Estefania Bedoy.

She was later found in a coma with critical injuries, days after interacting with men who claimed to be producers and assured to turn the duo into stars.

The unfortunate traveler passed away from her injuries five days later, on May 4, leaving unresolved the distressing texts she sent her parents before her untimely death.

Egyptian officials ruled the case an accidental fall – but her parents have outright rejected this claim.

Her father, Tito, expressed: “My daughter was killed, either through direct harm or because she felt trapped and felt compelled to end her own life.”

“And if she sent warning messages, it was because she wanted to live.”

Ivonne vanished on the night of April 27 after she and Estefania went to an after-party with Colombian trans woman Jessi Escobar.

According to cops, CCTV footage revealed Ivonne arguing with Escobar at a petrol station shortly before she disappeared.

Just hours later, she was found horrifically injured and in a coma in the skylight of a residential complex.

She was found half-naked and was said to have fallen from the sixth floor.

Ivonne had also suffered multiple serious injuries including pneumothorax.

Haunting final texts she sent to her parents in Colombia emerged in May, tracking her realisation that she was in grave danger.

One chilling text referring to “The Serbian” said: “He’s scaring me.”

Another read: “They want to do something to me. They want to kidnap me.”

In a third she begged: “Please come with the police. Please come urgently.”

She also told her parents: “They don’t want to make us a band,” revealing that the men had lured the friends in with false promises.

Ivonne flew into Cairo on April 24, excited for the festival to mark her birthday.

Pictures and videos posted to her social media showed Ivonne enjoying herself in the sun.

One snap even showed the pair decked out in Egyptian attire alongside Jessi, in front of a large crowd of revellers.

After Ivonne met the two men and sent out the distress signals, Estefania later ended up back at the room, unharmed.

Previously, Ivonne’s family informed the Colombian media: “We were unaware of her disappearance until Tuesday, April 30, when Estefania, her travel companion, reached out to us.”

After hearing of her disappearance, Ivonne’s friends and family made a series of frantic calls to Cairo hospitals to locate her.

In a conversation later shared by Ivonne’s relatives, Estefanía wrote: “She hasn’t woken up. They found her several days ago.

“She fell from a great height and I wasn’t there; she was with other people at the time.”

One relative, Alexandra Marin, told Colombian media: “We had a hard time finding the hospital due to language barriers and the lack of cooperation from the people involved.”

Ivonne’s family previously launched a GoFundMe appeal to help them bring back her body and fund the legal expenses to investigate her death.

They have also questioned why Estefania never contacted them directly when Ivonne went missing, despite being in regular touch with her own family.

The family filed a homicide complaint in Colombia on June 14, and prosecutors there have opened a fresh investigation.
