A Texas mom is spending her Mother’s Day behind bars after being found guilty of inappropriate conduct with her son’s 13-year-old friend.

A jury found 46-year-old Natalie Sorrells guilty on two counts of indecency with a child through sexual conduct, though she was cleared of two charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, court documents reveal. Sorrells received a sentence of two-and-a-half years for each offense, totaling five years of imprisonment. The events in question occurred in 2023 in Rockwall County, located in the Dallas area.

As stated in a probable cause affidavit acquired by KDFW, the local Fox station, authorities began their inquiry after the victim’s mother discovered erased texts between her son and Sorrells, where she allegedly referred to him as “babe.” Weeks afterwards, the boy disclosed to his mother that Sorrells had abused him.

Law enforcement conducted a forensic interview with the boy at the Rockwall Children’s Advocacy Center. The boy recounted multiple instances of inappropriate touching by Sorrells. He specifically detailed two occurrences of sexual contact: one in a vehicle after she collected him from a football game and another during her son’s birthday celebration, as outlined in the affidavit.

The victim also reportedly told investigators that Sorrells’ husband called during one of the encounters asking if she was cheating on him. The victim also alleged Sorrells often bought tobacco and alcohol for him and his friends.

Cops arrested Sorrells in February 2024. She served six days in jail before posting bond. Her attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
