Newberry Woman on Pretrial Release Arrested After Alleged Attempted Vehicle Assault

Staff report

NEWBERRY, Fla. – Tiffany Nicole Wynn, 38, was arrested last night after deputies said she deliberately tried to strike a woman with her vehicle while two juveniles were riding inside.

According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy, the incident happened at about 7 p.m. on June 18 as the victim was walking along West Newberry Road and talking on the phone. The deputy reported that the victim saw Wynn’s vehicle traveling westbound. The two women had reportedly lived on the same property for several years and had a history of reported disputes, including theft allegations and physical altercations. Wynn had recently moved off the property, the deputy noted.

The victim told the deputy that Wynn’s vehicle abruptly crossed to the opposite side of the road, turned around in a ditch, and headed back in her direction. As the vehicle approached, the victim said Wynn intentionally drove off the roadway and attempted to hit her. She told the deputy she had to run into the ditch to avoid being struck and feared for her life.

While the deputy was speaking with the victim, a juvenile reportedly approached and said Wynn had “definitely tried to hit [the victim] with the car earlier.” When asked how he knew, the juvenile reportedly said he had been inside the vehicle and witnessed the entire incident. He told the deputy that Wynn accelerated toward the victim and said his brother was also in the car at the time.

Wynn has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of child neglect without great bodily harm. She has no criminal convictions, but she was arrested on June 12, 2026, on a drug possession charge and assigned to Drug Court. Judge Jonathan Ramsey ordered her held without bail while a motion from the State Attorney’s Office is pending to keep her detained until trial. If the judge denies that motion, bail will be set at the hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
