Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A Chiefland woman was arrested yesterday after police said she failed to deposit several bank deposits for Perkins Restaurant and instead kept the money.
Amy Lyn Davis, 47, is accused of taking $3,884.05 connected to six deposits that were supposed to be made between April 16 and April 24. According to a Gainesville Police Department officer, the restaurant provided video showing Davis leaving the business with deposits on April 17, April 20, and April 24. The restaurant later reported that none of the six deposits from that period had been made.
Davis has been charged with grand theft. Court records indicate she has no criminal convictions. Judge William Davis ordered that she be released on her own recognizance.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
