A former cornerback for the New York Giants has been unaccounted for since mid-July.
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System has reported that Sam Beal, 29, disappeared after dropping off his girlfriend at a relative’s residence on July 13, 2025. Beal had borrowed his girlfriend’s vehicle, intending to drive to work, but instead headed towards Virginia Beach.
In a phone conversation with his girlfriend, Beal mentioned he was in Virginia Beach but was planning to head back home. However, there has been no contact with him since that call.
The vehicle Beal was using, belonging to his girlfriend, was later found by a family member. Inside, they discovered his socks and shoes placed in front of the front passenger seat, along with sand scattered throughout the car.
According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, Beal had his wallet with him, which contained his driver’s license and banking card. While his case was entered into the national missing persons database in October, the exact timing of when his disappearance was initially reported remains unclear.
Beal, who was drafted by the Giants in 2018, played for the team for two seasons before opting out in 2020 due to the pandemic. He was subsequently released from the team the following year.
Beal was described as standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds, and having short black hair and a short beard.
Anyone with information regarding Beal’s whereabouts is asked to call Kentwood police at 616-698-6580 or Virginia Beach police at 757-385-4141.
