Most of the people who have known Shannon described her as a warm and cheerful Native American. Not her close one nor she herself would have thought, of the sudden changes in their life.
Poteet got vanished in the November of 1986. Her getting lost was one of the odd things that her colleagues had experienced.
After three days, Shannon’s car got found with all the bloody scenes over her trunk. With the years passing, the case went cold with no evidence.
In 1994, it was re-opened again. So, was Poteet’s murderer arrested?

After eight years of Shannon’s death, Shannon was starting to get justice for her murder. Regarding her disappearing story and the murder, it also got aired on Oxygen with the episode name “Cold Justice.”
It all started when a hiker found the dental records of Poteet in the outside forest. Back then, her case got considered to be a homicide, even though the killer was unidentified.
With the team of “Cold Justice,” the prime suspect of the case, her husband at the time, Lonnie, got further investigated.
It turns out Lonnie has a short temper and several allegations against him.

With further inspection, all the evidence was pointing toward Lonnie Poteet.
Moreover, his brother Jeff Owens stated that when asked about Shannon’s disappearance. He neither agreed nor denied the matter.
Also, he was not willing to communicate with the investigators in the absence of the lawyer. As stated by Shannon’s lawyer, she wanted to split with Lonnie, as he was a dangerous person who even made death threats to her.

Sara is the daughter of the late Shannon. She was just 11 months old when her mother disappeared and got murdered.
With the new turn in the case and Shannon finally getting justice with the search of the case, Sara, the daughter of Poteet, wanted to get to the deep regarding the matter.
She is all grown up now and wanted to know if her dad, Lonnie is really behind the murder. Growing up, her father told her that; her mother left her when Sara had not even reached a year.
