Police responded to an urgent call at the Salisbury bus interchange shortly before 7 p.m., where they discovered a 12-year-old girl suffering from a stab wound to her abdomen.
The young victim was promptly taken to the hospital, where it was confirmed that her injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.
In the immediate aftermath, the suspects, described as the alleged attackers, managed to escape the scene by boarding a train. However, swift police work led to the arrest of three teenage girls at the Mawson Lakes interchange shortly after 7 p.m.
The detained individuals, two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old, all hailing from Craigmore, now face charges of affray and aggravated assault.
