Three teenagers were found dead in a rural Texas home on Tuesday, and police reportedly believe it was the result of a murder-suicide.

According to USA Today, a relative of the homeowner discovered the bodies of two females and one male on Tuesday. The relative reportedly lives next door to the residence in Crosby, a rural area north of Houston, and went to the home because they were “trying to locate someone.”

Police reportedly believe that one of the teens fatally shot the other two before turning the gun on themselves. Police have not released the ages or the names of any of the decedents. Investigators also found a gun at the scene, USA Today reports.

According to the report, the homeowner was away on a trip. It is not yet known if any of the victims were related to the homeowner, and investigators are still working to determine the relationship between the teenagers found dead.

“It’s extremely difficult when we’re talking about young people,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reportedly said at a news conference.

“These are always highly charged, very emotional. We understand that,” Gonzales said. “Our condolences go out to their family.”
