Staff Report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Todd M. Bullinger, 39, Savanna Ann DeShane, 41, both from Malone, New York, and Kenneth Lorenzo Jones, 37, from Trenton, were taken into custody last night following the discovery of drugs and a stolen firearm during a traffic stop.

Around 8:33 p.m. on December 28, deputies from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a blue Tahoe with New York plates in the 3500 block of SW 20th Avenue. As one deputy was issuing a traffic warning, another noticed a marijuana “blunt” in plain sight inside the vehicle. The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle, during which Jones was reportedly observed making suspicious movements, seemingly attempting to conceal something. Furthermore, a deputy saw Jones discard another marijuana “blunt” on the ground. All three individuals claimed they did not possess medical marijuana cards.

Upon searching the vehicle, deputies reportedly found a red backpack on the back seat containing approximately 4.1 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of cocaine, 1.8 grams of powdered cocaine in three separate baggies, and three large heat-sealed bags that originally had 8 ounces of marijuana each, complete with brand labels and prices. Additionally, they discovered 237 grams of THC wax in glass jars, two THC vape pens, 10 packages of specially packaged marijuana, a pack of marijuana-infused gummies, loose marijuana, and a scale.

Deputies also found a shopping bag on the front passenger seat floorboard containing three large unopened heat-sealed bags of marijuana.

In a black cross-body bag on the front passenger seat floorboard, deputies reportedly discovered 10.2 grams of powdered cocaine along with a pink straw, typically used for drug ingestion.

A small piece of cocaine and a marijuana “blunt” were reportedly found on the back passenger seat, and a marijuana “blunt” was found on the ground next to the back passenger-side door.

A loaded 9mm pistol stolen in Gainesville in 2022 was reportedly found on the floorboard next to the driver’s side back seat.

Post Miranda, Bullinger said he and DeShane were visiting from New York, and while he was showing DeShane where he used to live, they “ran into” Jones in his old neighborhood. They picked up Jones and planned to go downtown to play pool. Bullinger reportedly said he does not own a gun and was not aware of any of the narcotics in the vehicle except for two of the marijuana “blunts,” which he said were legally purchased from a dispensary in New York. Bullinger said Jones had multiple bags when he got into the vehicel, including a red backpack, but he couldn’t remember what the others looked like.

Post Miranda, DeShane reportedly said she and Bullinger were visiting from New York; while they were in town, Bullinger had reconnected with Jones by phone, and they picked him up in Trenton and were going downtown. She said Jones brought a red backpack with him, along with a shopping bag and a black cross-body bag. She said that when Jones got in, he handed her the shopping bag and the cross-body bag, saying he didn’t want to hold them and asking her to place them on the floorboard at her feet. She said she didn’t know what was in the bags, but she was aware that there were marijuana “blunts” in the car, which they got from Jones. She said she didn’t know anything about the gun and was upset that Jones had a gun because she is scared of guns.

Post Miranda, Jones reportedly said he had gotten a ride from Bullinger and DeShane and didn’t know anything about any illegal items in the vehicle.

Bullinger has been charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, three counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He has one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent), and Judge Adam Lee set bail at $210,000.

DeShane has been charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, three counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. She has an unspecified criminal history in another state between 2007 and 2024, and Judge Lee set her bail at $210,000.

Jones has been charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, three counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He has 15 felony convictions (non-violent) and eight misdemeanor convictions (one violent), and he has served six state prison sentences, with his most recent release in May 2025. Judge Lee set his bail at $525,000.
