The mystery surrounding the 2018 disappearance of Kierra Coles, an Illinois woman who vanished under troubling circumstances, remains unsolved. Authorities are concerned that foul play is involved in her case.
Kierra Coles, who was pregnant at the time, disappeared after being seen leaving her Chicago apartment in her work uniform, even though she had called in sick that day. She was 33 years old when she went missing, and her case has baffled investigators ever since.
In 2022, a crucial piece of evidence emerged: a surveillance video purportedly showing Coles withdrawing cash from an ATM at a Walgreens in Chatham. This footage is widely believed to capture her last known movements.
Shortly before this ATM visit, Coles was reportedly seen driving off with a man. While police have not publicly identified this individual, they have marked him as a person of interest. The following day, this man was observed returning to Coles’ apartment, parking her car in front of her home, and leaving behind her phone, purse, and lunch inside the vehicle.
Further complicating the situation, reports from WFLD indicate that the man entered Coles’ apartment building and later left with unspecified items. He then drove away in his own car, which had been parked nearby.
The man in question has allegedly provided inconsistent narratives regarding the events of that night. Despite these discrepancies, law enforcement has yet to make any arrests, leaving Coles’ family and the community searching for answers and justice.
Coles was 26 and three months pregnant when she vanished. A motive in her disappearance remains a mystery.
Coles was described as standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds, and having black hair and brown eyes. She has a heart tattoo on her right hand or wrist, and a tattoo that reads, “Lucky Libra” on her back.
As of September 2025, a $68,000 reward is being offered in this case. Anyone with information regarding Coles’ whereabouts should call Chicago police at 312-747-5789.
