At a Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop in Florida, an employee mistook a piece of paper found in the restroom for trash, but it turned out to be a plea for help from a reported domestic violence victim.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office shared in a press release that 34-year-old Jordan Williams was arrested on Wednesday, facing several charges related to domestic violence, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with false imprisonment, and battery. Deputies were dispatched to the Jersey Mike’s location in Navarre following a note found by an employee in the restroom.

According to the arrest report, which has been reviewed by Law&Crime, the note was written by a Williams’ girlfriend, who accused Williams of holding her against her will. The note ended with her plea for help: “Please help get me home! HELP! Get me before May 30th!”

Included in the note was a phone number and the address of the home where the woman said she was being held. She also wrote that Williams’ parents were allegedly also involved in keeping her at the home against her will.

After viewing surveillance video at the Jersey Mike’s, employees identified Williams and the woman, whom the employees said came to the shop for a very short time. They told the employees they were there to pick up DoorDash orders. The woman was seen on camera walking “directly to the bathroom” where the note was found 20 minutes after the couple left.

Deputies recognized the name of the woman from past domestic violence calls in connection to Williams, who is also a professional wrestler in the indie circuit who goes by the name “Jayden Steele” in the ring.

When investigators interviewed the woman’s ex-husband and mother, they both told police that Williams was “very violent” and “abusive.” The ex-husband told police that Williams had previously held the woman captive in the home and allegedly “threatened to kill his children and his family.”

The woman’s mother told police that she believed Williams was “controlling her [daughter’s] movements” and informed police that her daughter was suffering from not only bipolar disorder but a brain tumor as well.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the address the woman provided in her note and went to the home, where they found the woman inside with several injuries including a black eye and a possible broken arm. She recounted an alleged history of abuse at the hands of Williams, including several beatings and threats to her life. She also provided photographic records of her injuries.

After being arrested and read his rights, Williams denied ever striking the woman.

Williams was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail on Thursday and charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor. After a court appearance on Friday, he was ordered to be held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 2 and his arraignment is scheduled for June 19.
