Tom Silvagni, the son of high-profile former AFL star Stephen Silvagni, has been sentenced to six years and two months in jail after being found guilty of two counts of rape.

In a ruling made this morning at Victoria’s County Court, 23-year-old Silvagni received a sentence requiring him to serve a minimum of three years and three months behind bars before being eligible for parole.

Silvagni has already spent 12 days in custody prior to sentencing.

Last December 5, a jury in the Victorian County Court found Silvagni guilty of two counts of rape after a trial that spanned two weeks.

Silvagni had denied allegations that he assaulted his friend’s girlfriend at his residence in Melbourne during the early hours of January 14, 2024.

The incident occurred after the woman engaged in consensual sex with her boyfriend at the property. The boyfriend then arranged for an Uber and departed shortly before 2 a.m.

Deceptively, Silvagni told the woman that her boyfriend’s Uber was canceled and that he would soon return upstairs.

But it was Silvagni who went into the dark bedroom a short time later and pretended to be the woman’s boyfriend before digitally raping her twice.
