Steph Claire Smith’s long weekend celebrations hit a snag on Sunday after she sustained a very unpleasant injury.

The fitness influencer, 29, took to Instagram Stories to share photos of her red and raw derrière while posing in a bikini, revealing in the caption that she was stung by a wasp multiple times.

‘Had a run in with a wasp with great aim [laughing/crying emoji],’ she wrote, posing in a G-string bikini in front of her son Harvey, two.

‘Thankfully they didn’t get H (who was in my arms at the time),’ she added.

She later shared a close-up photo of the sting marks in a subsequent post, writing: ‘They must’ve wanted to add to my spotty bum.’

It comes after Steph and her Keep It Cleaner podcast co-host Laura Henshaw discussed how difficult it is to maintain exercise and weight loss goals as New Year’s Resolutions.

Steph said less than 10 per cent of people succeed in sticking to them, and encouraged listeners develop small and manageable steps toward their goals.

‘A lot of these challenges are built on a mindset of achieving more. It’s about setting habits that you can sustain,’ she explained.

She added that people needed to be kinder to themselves by allowing some leeway when it comes to challenges such as losing weight in the new year.

She concluded by saying that as long as people make small progress towards their goals each week, then they are working towards achieving their resolutions and should be happy.

Laura and Steph have made a multimillion-dollar empire out of their Keep It Cleaner brand and podcast, on which they regularly talk about body positivity and health.

The pair’s latest brand collaboration is with popular activewear label STAX.
