Reward increased for information on fatal hit-and-run

The reward for tips leading to the apprehension of the individual responsible for a deadly hit and run in Candler County, Ga., has been increased.

Tiffany Carter of Glennville was struck and killed in a hit-and-run Saturday, May 24.

The 43-year-old was hit between 3:30- 4:30 a.m. on High 46 West before Canoochee Road and Hiawatha Road.

“The person(s) responsible abandoned her on the road and fled the scene. Let that sink in,” stated a spokesperson from the Candler County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO). “No family should have to lay a loved one to rest without answers. We require your assistance. You might have witnessed something or overheard something.”

The reward has been increased to $2,500, local law enforcement said.

“There might be someone displaying suspicious behavior or operating a vehicle with unexplained damage,” officials mentioned. “Someone holds the key to what happened, and we need to hear from you.”
