Brevard County: Pedestrian Fatality on SR-520 as Cocoa Resident Struck and Killed

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic incident unfolded late Tuesday night in Brevard County when a 68-year-old man from Cocoa lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on State Road 520, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the vicinity of Clearlake Road.

According to the crash report, a 2006 Chevrolet Express was moving westward on SR-520. The vehicle veered southward, crossing into the path of the pedestrian, who was walking along the north shoulder of the road.

Authorities stated that the vehicle’s front end collided with the man, who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the location following the accident.

Currently, the incident is under investigation by law enforcement officials.

An investigation is ongoing.
