Central Florida Freeze Alert: Top Neighborhoods Facing the Coldest Temperatures

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is bracing for a cold snap this weekend, the likes of which haven’t been seen in 16 years.

On Thursday, authorities issued an Extreme Cold Watch across much of the region, marking the first such alert in approximately 15 years. By Sunday morning, some areas could experience wind chills plummeting to a frigid 7 degrees.

Here’s a detailed forecast broken down by county:

Orange County

Sunday morning promises to be particularly chilly, with temperatures expected to dip into the mid-20s, hovering between 23 to 26 degrees.

Osceola County

Conditions in Orange County, including Orlando and Kissimmee, will be quite similar. Residents should prepare for a cold start to the day, with early morning temperatures ranging from 23 to 26 degrees at sunrise.

Osceola County

Lake and Sumter counties

You’ll feel the cold just as much, if not more. Areas away from busy roads and city centers will feel colder, and strong northwest winds will make it feel even harsher. It’ll feel like the single digits.

Sumter County

Seminole County

Much like Orange County, Sunday morning will be cold, with temperatures settling into the low to mid-20s.

Marion County

This looks to be one of the coldest areas. Some spots could get into the teens.

Marion County

Flagler, Volusia, and Brevard counties

Below-freezing temperatures are likely across the area. Most spots will fall between 20 and 28 degrees.

Volusia County
Brevard County

Polk County

Around Lakeland, temperatures will be near 25 degrees, and if you’re in a more rural area, it could be even colder.

Polk County

This is a serious cold snap for Central Florida.
