COLORADO (KDVR) They’re calling it one of the worst cases they have ever seen: A Colorado puppy mill rescue group recently pulled 165 schnauzers from a property in southwest Colorado.

National Mill Dog Rescue brought the dogs to its Peyton location to be de-matted and checked out by a veterinarian. They continue to settle into their new environment.

The rescue’s founder and executive director says they were initially called in by the Bureau of Animal Protection.

Tuesday, 57 of the schnauzers were loaded onto a plane, headed for “Race for Life Rescue,” in Michigan.
