Community rallies around beloved therapy dog diagnosed with cancer

CHICAGO — The Andersonville neighborhood is coming together to support a cherished therapy dog, Jay, who has recently received a cancer diagnosis.

For the past few years, Jay the golden retriever has been a source of joy and smiles for residents at the intersection of Winnemac and Glenwood.

Jay’s owner, Junco Newman, enjoys nurturing the garden at her senior living complex, a place where she and Jay have formed a special bond.
