Crime Stoppers seeking tips on retail theft at Champaign Dick's Sporting Goods

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign Police Department is asking for help through Crime Stoppers in solving another retail theft in their city.

The incident took place at the Going, Going Gone branch of Dick’s Sporting Goods on 63 East Marketview Drive. According to officials, at around 2:52 p.m. on June 1, a woman entered the store, hid items in her handbag, and left without paying.

The stolen merchandise was valued at nearly $900.

The woman was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras during her visit. She is described as a white female, dressed in a white tank top beneath an orange long-sleeved shirt, with blue jeans, tan sandals, and glasses.

If anyone has information regarding this theft or can identify the woman, they are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers. Tips can be shared by calling 217-373-8477, visiting their website, or using the P3 Tips app.

All tips submitted to Crime Stoppers are both anonymous to law enforcement and eligible for a cash reward should the tip lead to an arrest.
