Danville man arrested for aggravated discharge of a firearm

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Danville Police Department is currently conducting a series of training exercises throughout the city.

Sergeant Andrew Brooks mentioned in a press release that the Emergency Response Unit officers are responsible for leading this training. The public might notice a heightened police presence, specialized vehicles, and various training activities, but there is no need for concern.

Brooks stated, “These drills are not a reaction to any particular event. They are conducted exclusively to ensure the Emergency Response Unit maintains their high level of training and readiness to effectively handle critical situations.”

Brooks did not say where specifically the training is happening but did say it will last from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
