Theft arrest turns to taser takedown after suspect threatens to shoot officers

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A woman in Louisiana, initially suspected of shoplifting, found herself in a physical altercation with law enforcement during her arrest.

The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) reported that officers responded to a call about a theft at a store on Jewella Avenue around 5 p.m. on October 17, 2025.

Upon arrival, the officers located a woman who fit the description given by eyewitnesses.

The woman was later identified as Shanquia Johnson.
