Shooting reported in 13800 block of NE 54th Place in Silver Springs

Deputies are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Silver Springs. (Marion County Sheriff’s Office)

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A man was shot and killed in Marion County on Saturday evening, according to a news release.

Deputies said they responded to the 13800 block of NE 54th Place in Silver Springs in reference to a shooting around 6:40 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Fire Rescue, according to the release.

MCSO detectives responded to the scene and “are interviewing all parties involved,” the release read in part.

No other information was released.
