A Sullivan County resident found himself in custody this past Sunday following an incident that drew the attention of the Gate City Police Department. Officers were dispatched to an apartment in response to a welfare check, prompted by a disturbing message that simply read “help,” which had been sent to the police by an individual concerned for the sender’s safety.
