Alec Baldwin changed since 'Rust' shooting: Hilaria Baldwin

() Alec Baldwin’s wife says the star is “very different” after the shooting on the set of “Rust” in 2021 that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

During an episode of “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa,” Hilaria Baldwin was asked about the incident and her husband’s post-traumatic stress disorder (Alec Baldwin was diagnosed with PTSD after the shooting).

“Do you suspect that, or do you think that Alec still has PTSD? Do you think he’ll always have it?” Ripa asked on the podcast episode.

Hilaria Baldwin on Alec Baldwin: ‘He is very different’

Baldwin’s 41-year-old wife said, “He is very different than he used to be. I think some of that, regardless of how people have behaved over the past few years, I think that to be in such a tragic situation, that was going to forever change him.”

She also said that Alec Baldwin’s reactions to louder noises “breaks my heart.”

“But he is, little by little, I think that … It’s hard, but he’s working on it, and I think that the children encourage him to work on it.”

The duo got married in June 2024 and have seven children together. He also has one daughter from his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.

“When you see that you have something to live for and these are seven little things, and we have Ireland, and she has her baby there’s so much beauty and joy, and I think that helps him to try to lead a happier life,” his wife said.

Cinematographer killed on set of Alec Baldwin movie ‘Rust’

On Oct. 21, 2021, Hutchins was killed when a prop gun that was held by Baldwin fired a live round on the film set of “Rust.” The movie’s director, Joel Souza, was also injured.

Baldwin continuously said he didn’t pull the trigger, but he and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer, were charged with involuntary manslaughter in 2023. Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced to 18 months in prison in April 2024, a sentence she recently completed.

Baldwin’s case was eventually dismissed due to the withholding of evidence by prosecutors and police.
