CHICAGO (WCIA) – Illini Night at Wrigley Field is scheduled for June 17 and Illinois Athletics announced new info on Tuesday.
Head football coach Bret Bielema, men’s basketball coach Brad Underwood, and women’s basketball coach Shauna Green will join the Illini for a lively gathering at the ‘Friendly Confines.’
Green and Underwood will throw out ceremonial first pitches.
Bielema will be the Cubs’ guest conductor for the seventh-inning stretch at Wrigley Field for a fifth consecutive year.
The trio of coaches will be present for the Illini’s Pregame Party at the Budweiser Brickhouse Tavern at 5 p.m. CT. The event is free to attend, and attendees do not need a game ticket.
Several Illinois football players are anticipated to join both the pregame event and the game at Wrigley. Expected attendees include quarterback Luke Altmyer, offensive linemen Josh Gesky and Josh Kreutz, and outside linebacker Gabe Jacas, who will be among the special Illini guests at the party.
The Cubs hosts the Brewers are 7:05 on Wednesday, June 17 for Illini Night.
Illini Night at Busch Stadium in St. Louis is set for Wednesday, June 25 when the Cardinals host the Cubs.
