LADY LAKE, Fla. – Monday marks two years since a 20-year-old was killed in Lady Lake, prompting the town’s police department to seek assistance in solving this case, which remains the town’s only unsolved murder.

Lady Lake officials report that 20-year-old Bryson “Swift” Leverette was one of two individuals shot at a residence in the Skyline Hills area of the town on June 30, 2023.

Leverette was departing from the Caroline Avenue home when, according to police, he and the other victim were ambushed by a group wielding multiple firearms, who subsequently escaped in unidentified vehicles.

Leverette was killed, while the other victim survived.

Police have not been able to identify any suspects in the case. A neighbor News 6 spoke to at the time said the gunfire woke up the whole neighborhood, but they never saw anyone.

The police department says Leverette’s girlfriend has since given birth to the 20-year-old’s son, and his family continues to wait for a break in the case.

“The Lady Lake Police Department will continue to work diligently to see that those responsible for Bryson’s death are brought to justice,” said Det. Ronnie Williams in a news release.

If you have any information that could help with the case, contact Williams at 352-751-1542 or email him at rwilliams@ladylake.org.

You can also call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
