North Augusta Public Safety arrests man after short standoff

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. () – A man is facing charges after a short standoff in North Augusta on Thursday.

The North Augusta Public Safety dispatchers reportedly received a 911 call around 3:20 p.m. on June 19, in which a man and woman were allegedly involved in a heated argument.

Police claim the man made threats to shoot both the victim and the officers should they arrive. Upon the arrival of law enforcement at the scene, the man reportedly fled into an apartment, prompting the involvement of the SWAT team due to the situation’s seriousness.

Identified as 27-year-old Huzavier Derrez Davidson, the suspect gave himself up after about 15 minutes, according to the police. Davidson was subsequently taken into custody for charges of Criminal Domestic Violence and was moved to the Aiken County Detention Center.

According to North Augusta Public Safety, Davidson will face more charges.
