Man charged with murder in death of estranged wife found in condo stairwell

CHICAGO – A man has been formally charged with the murder of his estranged wife, whose body was found in the stairwell of his condominium building.

Adam Beckerink faces charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Caitlin Tracey, as indicated by court documents.

The tragic incident occurred in October 2024 when Tracey’s body was discovered at the base of a stairwell in Beckerink’s residence on the 1200 block of South Prairie Avenue, located in the South Loop. Notably, her foot was severed in the incident.
