Labor Day is expected to bring the highest rain chances of the holiday weekend as an upper-level trough pushes a cold front into North Florida. That setup will increase moisture and instability, fueling numerous showers and storms through the day. Early Monday, scattered rain will be focused across our northern counties, including Flagler, Marion and northern Volusia. By lunchtime, rain chances will spread farther south, with unsettled weather lingering across Central Florida into the afternoon.
Week Ahead
The soggy pattern will stick around through the middle of the week as the front stalls near Central Florida and helps develop a mid-level low, keeping the atmosphere unsettled. Rain chances will stay above normal through Wednesday. During the second half of the week, the front will fade while high pressure begins building near Florida, gradually bringing rain chances back closer to typical levels by late week and into the weekend.
