EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. () — The father accused of murdering two of his children in 2018 is back in Effingham County court Monday.
Elwyn Crocker Sr. and his alleged accomplices, Kimberly Wright and Mark Wright, are being charged with the murders of Elwyn Crocker Jr. and Mary Crocker. Prosecutors aim to seek the death penalty for all individuals involved.
The remains of Mary and Elwyn Jr. were discovered buried in the yard of their family home in 2018. Mary was 14 years old at the time of her death. Elwyn Jr. is believed to have been deceased for two years when his body was unearthed; he would have been 16 that year.
The three motions being discussed are:
- Defense motion to suppress all electronics seized from defendant’s home
- Defense motion to ensure mitigating circumstances are properly weighed
- Defense motion to dismiss use of colored photos
On Monday morning, Defense Attorney Jerilyn Bell informed Judge Matthew Hube that her team is not ready to present arguments for the three motions today. This hearing, previously scheduled for June 16th, has already been postponed once.
