Protest moves near Disneyland after Anaheim unlawful assembly declared

Anti-ICE protesters regrouped and began setting off fireworks in a neighborhood near Disneyland after an unlawful assembly was declared in Anaheim Thursday night.

The fourth day of demonstrations in Orange County began peacefully outside Angel Stadium, but the scene changed as law enforcement tried to disperse the crowd around 8 p.m.

Some of those in the group made their way to a residential neighborhood near Disneyland, where they began setting off fireworks, freelance media firm TNLA reported.

Video showed explosions going off as the group marched through the neighborhood in the area of South Haster Street and Gene Autry Way, about a mile away from the theme park.

By 11 p.m., the majority of the crowd had dispersed, the Anaheim Police Department posted on Facebook. “No arrests were made and there were no uses of force.”

Officers remained in the area until after midnight.

“Anaheim PD remains committed to the safety of our community and to protecting everyone’s right to assemble and demonstrate peacefully,” the post read.
